Some folks around town are still abuzz about the invasion of the obit writers. I heard today of a local teacher who happened to stop in at the Old West for a drink, not knowing of the private party there. She got a little squeamish upon learning she was surrounded by obituary writers! Guess they got a lot of laughs out of that in the faculty room yesterday. 'I think that the proper question is "who's owns YOUR life?" If the answer includes anyone else other than you, then the Right to Die question is in play for every politician and religious quack out to rally his "base" (and sponge a pile of loot from their wallets); if the answer is you and only you, then this is one of those "privacy" areas that is none of ANYBODY ELSE's business ... one of those unenumerated rights that were reserved for the states and for individuals in the U.S. Constitution. I, for one, trust an individual to protect his own best interests far more than I would ever trust anyone from the government to even listen to me, much less act in accordance with MY wishes.
If a person is so ill that they are contemplating suicide, then the only acceptable response from those against that suicide is to immediately cure whatever malady has brought the individual to that point (at ZERO cost to the individual). If they can't, then they should be required to Shut Up, leave the individual alone and stop yapping to the media about something that is NOT THEIR BUSINESS.' [Report Message]

'Is such a thign really nessesary? I mean are can some people acually say they wouldn't not wish to return to the creator all because of sex? mean come on, there is so much more to life and love then just sex. We all all just souls and mere rain drops in the ever vastness of the Great One, our souls are not even our own they belong to the creator. When two people are married their bodies and souls become one, and when they return to the the creator they will not be two souls but they will be one. United forever' [Report Message]

'Sadly, the courtiers were right: she actually was unstable and barely able to care for herself, let alone two children. She was the worst possible choice for a wife, given her instability and low intelligence. Unfortunately, as long as princes (and other men) choose their spouses solely on the basis of appearance, more tragedies like this marriage will happen.
But I don't think she made a mistake per se, if only because I don't think she was intelligent or stable enough to make a decision in sound mind. She couldn't pass exams at the equivalent of a grade six level (that's the level twelve-year-olds are at) when she was 16. Now none of us choose our intelligence, so she shouldn't be blamed for this. But to elevate a girl who might have been institutionalized 100 years ago to the level of a princess and world figure was not a sensible idea.
Sadly, had Charles never listed to Earl Mountbatten and his idiotic advice ("once bedded never wedded"), he might have been a lot happier.' [Report Message]

'i am sad to hear tat you have lost your love ones... but i believe if your mum is still around her greatest wish will be those lesbians and gays return to their originally sex. female is female. male is male. no matter what they change, how they feel or undergo and operation, they can't go against the Law of nature. respect the mother who give birth to them if they really love the mother and stop giving themselves anymore reasons or excuses to continue indulge in their own sins. i ve got many friends les and gays.. even though their parents love them, as all parents love their own child, but actually the mother GRIEVES. one mum even blame herself for the fact that the child has become like this. she died with regret. but the child never knows.....' 'We debate this sex-or-no-sex-in-heaven issue because we fail to realize that heaven is way diferent from earth. The God who gave us sex is able to give us infinitely greater pleasures than those derived from sexual intercourse. Our problem is that we are so saturated with sex in today's culture that we cannot imagine anything more pleasurable. No fear, Christians, the Bible says "No eye hath seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the mind of man what God has prepared for those who love Him." THe Lord has far greater pleasures than earthly ones. A religion that cannot promise you more than carnal pleasures is not worth anyone's credulity as far as the afterlife is concerned.' 'Eulogy for Luciano Pavarotti
I sorrow over this great artist's death.
Listening to him throughout my life gave me the impetus to move forward in my career as a vocal coach. His life has been a great music lesson to me.
His curious combination of human depth, child-like innocence and unpretentiousness brought him to the position of being one of the greatest artists who ever lived; for, since his beginnings, he kept himself in tune with the universal chord of life-love-light that forever embraces all humanity.
Yes, he is gone. But ultimately he won the game of life; for his artistic contributions have won for him a position in the hierarchy of the universe.
